Top 40: Olamide’s ‘Who U Epp’ continues to rise as Mayorkun debuts

Though D’banj’s Emergency maintains a top spot, slides on our top 40 chart continue this week. Olamide’s Who U Epp moves up four places from the 6 spot to land a second spot peak. The rapper also lands a follow-up third spot to the freestyle with Abule Sowo, his preppy birthday braggadocio single.

Other major leaps include YCEE’s Omo Alhaji stepping in at the 5th spot from the 11th spot last week. Sugar Boi’s Hola Hola seems to be getting major traction as the single leaped 6 places to land the 20th spot.

New entries feel almost predetermined as social media and video releases have helped the buzz of both Kiss Daniel’s Mama and newcomer, Mayorkun’s Eleko. The Young John produced Mama peaks at the 27th spot while Davido’s new golden boy lands the 33rd spot with Eleko.

Exits are subtle hits that landed with a bang earlier this year. Eva Alordiah’s Kanayo returned to the charts after she benefited from buzz that trailed her retirement announcement, but its chart run comes to an end this week after barely 3 weeks of return.

Also exiting the chart is Pryse’s Real Fans,  another single off her Pryseless Freestyle series.

This is what our top 10 looks like this week. See the full chart here
