Dr Sid
Born Sidney Onoriode Esiri on 1, May 1980, Dr Sid is a singer-songwriter and performer presently signed to Mavin Records. He graduated from the University of Ibadan with a degree in Dental surgery but chose to pursue his love for entertainment.
Dr Sid’s career began circa 1999 when he signed to the cutting edge label, Trybe Record. His contemporaries at the time were eLDee, Freestyle and Sasha P and he spent his first few years touring with the collective as a back-up dancer.
Post-graduation, Dr Sid combined dentistry and music before embracing music full time and signing with the defunct Mo’Hits. His first studio album Turning point was released in 2010 and spawned hit singles, Something about you and Over the moon amongst others. He remained with Don Jazzy after the split with D’Banj and was one of the founding members of Mavin records.
