shirtless-dbanjThere are recording artists and there are performing artists but in our industry, not much room is given for specialization, the artist is expected to be a jack of all trades and more importantly be able to move the crowd as most earn their money off shows and performances, here is a list of five acts who have rocked stages across the nation and held their fans spellbound on every occasion over the years;

Dbanj – Banga Lee aka Eja Nla packs the energy with the unpredictability, suggestive dance moves and a retinue of hits with which he owns the stage every time he rocks it. His performance at Headies where he appeared in only a towel remains epic as far as stagecraft goes.

P- Square – The twins are probably Africa’s best entertainers with their dancers, well executed choreography, dazzling costumes and sexiness, the hardworking brothers light up the stage every time and have a lot of girls crying and fainting across Africa.

Weird Mc – I recently watched this energetic lady first hand at an event where she ran into the VIP section on the upper floor, age has not slowed the ‘Ijoya Crooner’ down one bit as she is a dynamite once on stage and explodes every time. She may not have a bag filled with hit songs to pick from, but she does make Ijoya sound fresh on every occasion.

Eedris Abdulkareem- Veteran rapper, Eedris Abulkareem remains one of those that lights up any stage easily across the nation, despite not having a hit in recent times, his antics and a host of classic joints keeps him as a fan’s favorite. Was one of the first Nigerian acts who dared the ‘Jumping into the crowd’ stunt.

Olamide – Baddo is probably the king of the stage these days, the Lagos Boys crooner has it all, swag, hits, more hits and a team of YBNL soldiers who are always on hand to back him up when required.
