Born Eniola Akinbo, on December 9, 1985, Nigerian female singer, songwriter and performer Niyola is currently signed to Empire Mates Entertainment.
The singer who hails from Ilesha in Osun State is the last of a conservative Christian family of 10. At age 8, together with her music enthusiastic father, she attended a Funmi Adams concert and started developing interest in singing and decided that year to do a song at their annual church convention. Groomed by her vocalist father for the convention alongside her brother and sister, Niyola became an instant revelation after the event going home with lots of gifts and envelopes from people who appreciated her rare gift.
From then on, she started nurturing her musical skills which bore results in 2000 when she took part and emerged first runner up at the AMEN Starlet competition. She was to record a duet with Plantashion Boyz but ended up recording with just Faze as the group split and went their separate ways. From there, she joined Eldee's Trybes Records for a short stintl in 2005, before teaming up with Freestyle to start the production outfit "Make Sum Noise Entertainment" where she released 3 singles; "No More", "Dem Say" and "Me and U(In da club)".
In 2012 Banky W who had been friends with her for a long time asked her why she wasn't doing music and her reply was that as much as she wanted to, she doesn't have enough resources and he subsequently signed her as the first lady of Empire Mates Entertainment and she has since been soaring high with her sweet vocals. She went on to release her first single under the label's imprint on 22 May, 2013 "Toh Bad" which became an instant hit.
She also featured on the label's Empire State of Mind album alongside Skales, Banky W, and Wizkid. Since then she has been a force to reckon with in the industry, with the release of more hit songs.
