BIOGRAPHY
Harrison Tare Okiri, who was born on March 30, 1981 and performs under the stage name Harrisong, is one artiste who has a very twisted story.
His mother and father were actually siblings but did not know until after they had him and as a result he was the only child of that short union, since they had to go separate ways after discovering that they had committed incest. He started his musical career as a young 11 year old congarist in a church where his mother was the music director, but after the untimely death of his beloved mother, a strained relationship with his step-mother led to his drop-out from school.
The Warri born, Portharcourt bred artiste who is also known as Mr Songz doubles as a prolific songwriter and voice trainer. He had a very rough beginning, moving from studio to studio, following bands and writing music free for people to perform. However things started getting better when he signed with QuestionMark Entertainment.
He met his new label boss Kcee while hustling and performing every Friday at O'jez night club in Surulere after moving to Lagos in 2007 after heeding the advice of veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) and comedian Gordons. Kcee and erstwhile partner Presh used to spray him money and inspired him. He however kept in contact with Kcee after his breakup with Presh and they got closer, started working together and eventually he got signed to Five Star Music.
