Biography
D’banj was born Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo on 9, June 1980. He is a best known as an award winning performing artiste, entertainer and humanitarian. One of the biggest acts to emerge from Nigeria, D’banj scored a worldwide crossover hit in 2011 with the track, Oliver. He has been associated musically with the likes of Kanye West, Don Jazzy and K-Switch.
Upon arrival for further studies in the United Kingdom, D’banj met up with Don Jazzy, a then struggling producer/song writer and the duo began to record music together. They returned to Lagos in 2004 with the career making single Tongolo.
D’banj released two more wave making albums before he was signed by Kanye West’s G.O.O.D records as an artiste in 2011. The record deal would signal the end of the fruitful relationship with Don Jazzy which had blossomed into the Mo’ Hits label. He appeared on Cruel summer, the G.O.O.D compilation record before releasing his 4th album D Kings men in 2013.
