Biography
Born Alexander Abolore Adigun on 17, January 1980, 9ice is a contemporary folk/highlife singer, rapper, record producer, music executive and later day politician. He hails from Oyo state but grew up in the Bariga ghetto area of Lagos.
Singing in his Yoruba dialect and making generous use of local proverbs, 9ice became a huge crossover star with the phenomenal success of his 2008 single Gongo Aso. 9ice attracted some backlash in 2014 when he warned bloggers to desist from uploading his music for free on their various websites.
In 2015, 9ice ventured into politics, contesting unsuccessfully for a seat in the Oyo state Federal House of Assembly. He was subsequently named special adviser to the governor.

Fun facts
9ice was raised in a polygamous home. His father had 9 children from five wives.
9ice himself has fathered children from 3 different women.
He gained admission to study Law at Lagos State University but had to drop out as he could not afford the daily commute from Bariga to Ojo.
